Tema, Ghana, 30 June 2026 – Construction of the Tema Integrated Industrial Park (TIIP) was officially launched today in Tema during a sod-cutting ceremony held under the Distinguished Patronage of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana.
The ceremony was attended by Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources; Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry; and Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, alongside senior government officials, representatives of Afreximbank, development partners and industry stakeholders.
The launch marks the official commencement of construction works for the park, a joint venture between TDC Ghana Ltd, the Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC) and Arise Integrated Industrial Platforms (Arise IIP), delivered through the special purpose vehicle Tema Integrated Industrial Parks Limited.
TIIP is an execution-ready industrial zone spanning 83.5 hectares, strategically located approximately 7 kilometres from Tema Port within the Tema Heavy Industrial Area, Ghana’s most established industrial corridor.
Aligned with the Goverment of Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy initiative, the park is expected to create more than 6,000 direct and indirect jobs, while catalysing foreign direct investment, technology transfer, skills development and stronger local industrial value chains.
By enabling value addition, import substitution and export-oriented manufacturing, TIIP will contribute to positioning Ghana as a leading manufacturing, processing, logistics and export hub in West Africa, while serving as a gateway to both ECOWAS and African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) markets.
Arise IIP brings its pan-African experience in designing, financing, developing and operating integrated industrial ecosystems across the continent, with a focus on local transformation, export competitiveness and sustainable industrialisation. Since its inception fifteen years ago, Arise IIP has expanded from a single industrial park in Gabon to 24 industrial parks across 15 African countries, supporting more than 40 industries and creating over 42,000 jobs.
Arise IIP reminded all today during the launch of the construction of the Tema Integrated Industrial Park, that its partner, Afreximbank had made available a US$1 billion funding facility for investors and manufacturers across Arise industrial parks, including TIIP Ghana, reinforcing its commitment to advancing industrialisation and private sector development across the continent.

About TDC Ghana Ltd
TDC Ghana Ltd was set up in 1952 under an ordinance with the responsibility to plan and develop about 63 square miles of public land for various land cases and manage the township that had been created to provide accommodation to those that would be engaged in these economic operations.
